ABAQUS measurement units?

Many beginners come with the question of what are ABAQUS measurement units. Unlike most of numerical software, ABAQUS does not have any build-in unite system.so please Do NOT include unit names or labels when entering data in ABAQUS. All input data must be entered in consistent units. This table shows the compatible units.

Before starting the modeling you need to decide which unite system to use. My advice is to write down input data you are going to use to make sure they are consistent with each other.

If you want to work with SI system for example, enter the amounts of dimensions in meter in create part window, and in the following windows, whenever you want to enter a data you must defined it in SI system.  Bear in mind, create part window, is the first (and the last) place you have to decide about the unit system you want to use. This is a NO-RETURN point. If you enter the dimensions in millimeter, the rest of parameter units MUST be compatible  with mm.
