Machinery equipment for Soil Excavation

Machinery equipment has brought about a sweeping change in excavation methods. Nowadays many types of machinery tools are available to facilitate the excavations and to budget the time. Generally Excavators  consists of a boom, dipper,  bucket and cab on a rotating platform. The mechanism of the carriage can be designed by tracks or wheels. In most excavators are equipped with powerful hydraulic jacks, however few are cable-operated excavators which works with steel ropes.

Tracked Excavator

This kind of excavators moves by traction which empowers them to work under tough conditions such as mining projects and bedrocks since the are equipped by hydraulic jacks, they are usually called hydraulic excavators by most of contractors. The main advantage of these excavators is the apply  lower pressure to the ground beneath them. As a result they can easily move in loose, wet muddy soils without any problem.

Wheeled Excavator

The only difference of wheeled excavators is that their carriage is mounted on wheels. However wheeled excavators It can move faster, but they are not suitable for uneven grounds. Besides wheels are more vulnerable which increases the overall maintenance cost of the machine.  The main advantage of wheeled excavators is that they do not damage the road pavement, so that they can move in streets and roads to reach construction site.

 Dragline Excavators

To work in wide valleys the boom need to be extended. As a result, manufactures have designed another system to substitute expensive hydraulic jacks. Dragline excavators consists a digging bucket which is controlled by the cable. Dragline excavators are exclusively designed for larger depth excavations, such as port construction. Replacing the expensive hydraulic jacks and increasing the length of boom have made them less expensive.

Trenchers

Many constructions, such as drainage system, requires digging a trench. Since the geometry of trenches is quite identical, manufacturs have find a tailored solution to reduce the cost of excavation. Trenchers are available in many sizes and in two types: chain trenchers and wheeled trenchers. As it is explained earlier, each carriage has its own drawbacks and advantages.
